Howdy y’all!

This is Ryan (Tex) checking in with you from Santo Domingo. Today was our “tourist day” and we spent it resting up between camp sessions and seeing the amazing beauty that abounds on this island nation.

We slept in this morning after spending the previous evening playing games with the national team. Following breakfast, we went to a local market and bought souvenirs ranging from mugs to jewelry made with Larimar, a beautiful blue stone that we are told is native to only Hispaniola. We also spent two hours at the beach and bought many pounds of the Dominican coffee that we have experienced every morning.

We thoroughly enjoyed the day of rest bonding among our team and admiring God’s creation here on the island, and everyone is looking forward to the second round of campers who will arrive tomorrow! Be praying that God will work in the hearts of the campers and staff over the next three days, and know that we are having a blast while spreading God’s name to the nations. Adios!
