The second session of camp has started! After sleeping at the Mission House we ate breakfast and headed towards camp. It is a little over a 2 hour drive.

While we were driving towards camp we stopped in a town. We were surprised to find out that we were picking up some of the local counselors and some campers as well! So for the rest of the trip we got to talk to them and get to know them. Even though we can’t talk to them fluently we could get by. Marlon, who is one of the local leaders, led us all in some camp cheers in Spanish. That was a lot of fun. There are many movies and shows that are viewed here in El Salvador also. We all started singing songs from Frozen, Hakuna Matata, and Spongebob Square pants theme song.

Once we arrived at camp, we saw another bus parking. We realized that it was full of campers. So when we hopped off of the bus we went straight to the other bus to make a tunnel of excitement. We were so excited to have new campers here!

Then we all gathered around in a circle to learn where we are staying this week. This cabin assignment time was led by Evelyn and Marco. We were all ready to go!

Will was trying to understand what Marco was saying. But to be honest we have all felt this way at some point during the trip.

Also, we were all thrown for a loop when we found out that Sadie was placed in a cabin with the little guys this session. We were nervous at first that the boys would be disappointed in this but in no time they were jumping on the beds and jumping on her. She is so excited to get to love on them. They already enjoy spending time with her.

Campers listened while Erick and CJ explained the rules of camp. The Spirit Stick was explained and shown to everyone and they were so loud and excited to possibly win it later this session. Then we all waited in line patiently for our meal of chicken and rice and tortillas. It was yummy!
