Today was spent getting to know the national staff and prepping camp for our campers who arrive tomorrow! We began this morning by spending time in worship with the Dominican staff. Their passion to worship The Lord is incredible and we were blessed to be led by them! Before lunch we also reviewed the Pine Cove philosophy of camp ministry. This is our third year in our partnership with the Dominican camp and they have done an awesome job in developing their leaders and camp!

A highlight of today was definitely our spontaneous dance parties! The Dominicans LOVE to dance! We taught them the newest Pine Cove dance, “The Chainsaw” and they taught us several of their own dances. We had a blast! We even taught them how to two-step!

The rest of the afternoon was spent playing games, prepping our activity classes for camp and getting our cabin assignments! Our first three day camp session begins tomorrow. Most of us will be co-counselors in a cabin with a Dominican counselor. The rest of us will serve in program roles helping facilitate games and meal times! We will switch roles during our second session of camp.

Since we arrived late last night, when we woke up this morning we were in awe of the beauty that surrounded us. Camp sits on the side of the mountain and the view is absolutely stunning. The Lord’s presence is so obvious on both the people and the land. We are so blessed to be here!

Be praying for the 60+ campers that arrive tomorrow! They are all coming on scholarship because of our team that faithfully fundraised for this trip. So, thank you to all our supporters for being a part of the ministry The Lord is going to do this week! We will write again tomorrow!

Buenas Noches!
