With the day finally approaching to take off to Guatemala, there is only one more thing we need to do before we leave. There has to be a formal introduction to the Guatemala team! This team has spent time fundraising, praying, and preparing for what God is going to do in the ten days we will be partnering with CCI to bring camp to Guatemala. So here’s the team!
Kayla is from Hendersonville, TN and graduated with a degree in Spanish from the University of Tennessee. She now lives in Bullard, TX with her husband Barrett. Barrett and Kayla were married August of this year and are loving the new adventure of learning life together. Barrett is the Director of the Ranch and Kayla is the Women’s Director of the Shores. Kayla loves Spanish, Sports, and spending time with her family and friends. She has a passion for college ministry and traveling the world.
Hunter is from Mobile, AL. He attends University of Mobile where he studies Interpersonal Communications. Hunter loves videography and has worked two summers on the Pine Cove media team, where God has developed his passion for spreading the gospel through media. Hunter loves his family, meeting new people, making others laugh, and sweet tea.
Taylor is from Corpus Christi, TX. He is currently enrolled at Texas State University where he studies Communication and Recreation administration. Taylor works for a college ministry on campus to advance the gospel through relationships and groups at school. He has worked at Pine Cove for 2 summers where he has found a passion for loving others through camp ministry. He loves outdoor/underwater recreation, being with people, and traveling.
Travis is from Dallas, TX. He attends Baylor University where he is studying Corporate Communication. Travis is on staff as a worship leader at First Baptist Church of Woodway, where he helps lead the congregation in worship every Sunday morning, and is involved with youth ministry as a college leader. Worship through music is a huge passion of his, and he hopes to someday lead worship full time. Travis has spent one summer at Pine Cove, loves music and the arts, the outdoors, and traveling.
Hayden is from Tyler, Tx. She attends the University of Arkansas where she studies communication. Hayden is involved in high school klife in Fayetteville and has worked at Pine Cove Shores for one summer where she continued to discover her passion for high school ministry. A couple other things she is passionate about are sports, being outdoors and traveling.
Jordan is from Fairview, TX. She is a senior at Baylor University where she is studying psychology and religion. Jordan is involved in K-Life and the college ministry at Grace Church in Waco, seeking to convey the beauty and transforming power of the gospel to students around Waco. She has discovered a true passion for building relationships centered on the gospel and counseling during her 3 summers on staff at Pine Cove. She loves people, anything outside, and coffee.
Spencer is from Springfield, Illinois and is in his senior year studying Psychology and Business at Baylor University. He spends time investing in his fraternity, serves as a CRU leader, and will flip on Netflix when he needs a breather. He’s passionate about both taking care of and helping people. The perfect Saturday afternoon would include a root beer float, a round of golf with good company, some ingredients to cook a tasty meal with, an intriguing book, and lot of laughter.
Lydia is from Longview, Texas. She attends Texas A&M University where she studies Business Management and Spanish. Lydia volunteers with helping international students on campus hear the Gospel by hosting students for dinner, and through Breakaway Ministries. She loved seeing her passion grow for speaking identity through the blood of Christ into
high school women during her one summer at camp. She is normally found randomly dancing, communicating through movie quotes, reading anything from Tolkien, or daydreaming about all the places she wants to travel.
Mackenna Lytten is from Mansfield, Texas…a quaint little town that was good for growing up. She is a senior at Texas A&M where she is studying Allied Health and plans to go to nursing school in the fall of 2016. Her passion is children and eventually plans to be a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in oncology. Mackenna thoroughly enjoys hanging out with her girly pops, investing time and energy in Aggie Belles as the Sisterhood Co chair, and frolicking in the fields once in a blue moon. If she could do one thing right now it would probably be getting on a plane and flying to somewhere where hiking trails are available right at her fingertips! She is intrigued by different cultures, loves the Lord, and let’s not forget….is a Dallas Mavericks fanatic.
Madelyn Irwin is from Coppell, TX. She is a junior, Corporate Communications major at Baylor University. She is involved in her sorority and Waco Young Life. She has worked at Pine Cove the last two summers where she fell in love with high school kids, camp, and spreading the gospel. If she could have an endless supply of pizza at all times, she would. She also loves sports, anything outside, and hanging out with her golden retriever.
Grace is from San Angelo, Texas (let’s hear it for Wexas). She is a junior at Baylor University where she is studying Professional Writing and Public Relations. Grace is involved in YoungLife at a local high school in Waco and her sorority. She has worked at Pine Cove Shores for one summer where her passion for high school ministry, furthering the gospel, and losing her voice for the sake of spirit was fostered. She loves Torchy’s queso, belly laughing, all things literature, and Jurassic Park.
Griffin is from Brunswick, Georgia. He is a sophomore at Anderson University where he Is studying Biochemistry. Griffin is in Hope Fellowship college ministry and gets to share the love of Christ to students through recreational sports. He has worked at Pine Cove Shores for one summer where he learned how to love on high schoolers and spread the word “ALL DAY”. He loves sports, chilling with friends, and winning free T-shirts, but most importantly, intramural is life.
