What it do my friends!
First off, while typing this, I am getting a beautiful glimpse of heaven here in Nicaragua as I listen to different nations and languages worshiping the same creator.
Man, what a day! Today was the second full day of campers being here and it was a blast! The days are packed full of fun, games, Jesus, chaos, and always a well timed siesta! I have gotten the opportunity to serve on P-Staff this week, which means I help set up everything behind the scenes and make sure program is running smoothly. It has been an awesome opportunity to get to see the Nicaraguan counselors interact and love on the kids. Also, I get to see the American counselors show Gods love even though it’s hard for them to understand what the kids are saying. It has really shown, that if Gods love is at the forefront of our lives, He can do so much more than we could imagine.
Last night we had a rockin worship service. It started and went straight into some music and prayer for the kids (that’s what all of us Americans thought was happening anyway, haha). It is awesome to see how much passion and love the Nicaraguans put into worshipping the Father and praying for their campers. The Nicaraguan counselors were weeping over their campers and praying for them to come to know Christ. For a moment, I was overcome with sadness, thinking back to home and what seems like a lack of passion we bring to worship. So many times I feel like I put God in a box- saying there is no way He can do this or that. Then, this morning, while reading the Word, I came across Ephesians 3:20-21, which is right after Paul prayed for the church to have spiritual strength. It says “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think, according to the power at work within is, to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Talk about the Lord laying the hammer! The God we all worship is able to do far more than we could ever imagine, so why do we keep putting him in a box? For goodness sakes people, we get the opportunity to worship the creator of the world, the very One who wove us in our mothers womb, the very One who put the stars in their place. The Nicaraguans don’t have the flashy lights and huge band, or anything like that, but their hearts are in it. Why do we keep selling ourselves short of full heart surrender? God is Capable. God is Able. God is Strong.
Pray that we and yourself wouldn’t put the Creator of the heavens and the earth in a box. Pray that God would show up and show off here in Nicaragua and at home in the U.S. Pray for these campers to see the love of Christ. That they would realize He loves them so much, that he laid down his life down for them to live eternally. Our work this week is far from over! Gods work in this place is far from over!
Thank you all for your support and prayers, great things have happened and more is yet to come.
May the Grace of our Lord be with you.
