Yesterday morning we finished camp with the wobble, cabin pictures, and a prayer circle. We said goodbye to our 50 campers and made a gauntlet for the bus to drive through as it left!
Earlier in the week, a few spots opened up at camp because at the last minute 2 campers could no longer come. Our national leader, Analu, saw 2 girls walking on the road near camp and she invited them to come for the week…and they came!! God is so gracious in his timing that we could invite them to come to camp at no cost. So, after the bus left we made a second gauntlet to say goodbye to those 2 girls who would be walking back home. I walked them home with Analu & I cried the whole way there and back – what a vivid reminder that God sees and blesses his children and He made way for those two girls to spend a week at camp hearing of His goodness.
That afternoon after all the campers left we met with our national team to debrief the week. The counselors gave each of their staff a character quality word that we saw in them & it was encouraging to hear what they learned too!
We had one more round of pool time to play games and relax with both Pine Cove and Peruvian staff before eating lunch at camp. Then we headed to the beach for the afternoon! You’ll hear more about this adventure soon 🙂
The Lord did incredible things over the past few days and I’m certain he will continue to move in the lives of campers and staff!
More touring of Peru to come in the morning! Then we will depart from Arequipa at 9:25pm tomorrow evening, fly to Lima and then to Atlanta and we will land in the great state of Texas on Jan. 12th at 12:35pm. Please be praying for us as we travel back home!
