As I sit in our camp that is absolutely stunning, I am reflecting on God the Creator. I have been studying the book of Isaiah since August and the relationship that is mentioned over and over again is God the Creator and we the created.
But what I was struck by, as I was singing Spanish words while having no idea what I was singing, is that God knew all the words I was singing. Even though I had no idea what I was even saying! He knows every language. He knows every culture. He designed every single one.
So yes, we are surrounded by total natural beauty, but even more beautiful are these amazing, generous, kind, would-give-you-the-shirt-off-their-back kind of people we get to spend our time with. And we may not understand them fully or even speak the same language or understand their culture, but God knows it all. He knows every last detail about them. And about us. And about me. And about you.
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.” -Psalm 139: 13-15
He created each one of us uniquely and intentionally. It’s just so good for us to continually broaden our perspective and remember the God we serve is so much bigger and more creative than we could ever imagine.
That is our food for thought today. We are all doing well! Today is our halfway point for the trip and camp!
-Juan Jose: a camper that told his counselor last night that he has never truly accepted Jesus. Pray that he could come into the saving knowledge of who Jesus is!
-energy. Pray that we finish camp strong!
-health. A couple of people have sore throats (parents read: we are all doing well! Just a few of us could be better)
About to go jump in the pool! On deck for tonight: a talent show. Is there anything better, really?
Until next time,
