Día Seis: Closing Ceremony

Posted Jan 8, 2017

¡Hola! Today marked our last day with the campers. It was tough to see the little ones leave after so much laughter and games, but what a blessing it has been!
This morning was filled with bible studies and cooking! Kids and counselors created their own lunch and desserts – Comida Campestre. We split potatoes in half, placed a hot dog inside, wrapped the meal in foil, and cooked them over a fire. 45 minutes later, we had lunch! For dessert, we sliced a banana open and put marshmallow inside. The finished product was very gooey and so rich!

We closed the day with the Closing Ceremony of the Olympics. Medals, trophies, and confetti filled the basketball court as we enjoyed a big fiesta with everyone! The kids were picked up around 4pm, and the staff got the chance to worship as a team by the fire after the craziness died down.

Tomorrow, we are traveling to Antigua to tour the beautiful country and camping at Lake Panajachel. Thank you for all the comments, love, and prayers you all have been sending. So many prayers have been answered! Feel free to continue to comment, and please pray for safety as we travel through the country tomorrow. ¡Nos vemos!
