Day Two: Clean or Dirty
I was telling our team tonight how I was reminded this week – specifically today of how finite our minds are but how infinite our God is. He knows no bounds, no geography, no language – He is always sovereign, always good.
It says in Psalms 22
“All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, all the families of the nations will bow down before him, for dominion belongs to the Lord and be rules over the nations.” 27-28
Yestersay was an awesome day – I wish I had more words to describe it. Our campers have bonded so well with their counselors both Pine Cove and Costa Rican and to see them laugh and engage all day is truly something special. Our theme was Clean or Dirty? and focused on the choice between two paths.
Today, we continued with activity classes and free time where campers could choose from activities like cooking, origami, arts and crafts and survival skills (Johnny taught them to make a compass in the woods – way cool). We then played an all camp game where campers had to choose between two paths – one was more challenging and one that was easier. The ultimate goal was to impress upon them the importance of choosing the path that leads to Jesus and life.
Tonight, we hiked to a campfire where Hellen shared the gospel and tied together about the path the leads to life and what that means in our lives. During worship, counselors prayed over their campers. God was at work tonight, that I know for a fact.
To see the numerous stars in the sky was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. We are grateful for today and are so thankful for your prayers. Our group 1 campers leave tomorrow – though they only arrived Tuesday, it feels so much longer than 2 days in the best way. To God be the glory.
