Mission Trips

Day 7 and it felt like heaven!

Posted Jan 11, 2017

Our day of tourism was absolutely incredible!

Warning: This post will have LOTS of exclamation points because we had the most amazing time!!

We started off the day loading up the bus and leaving our beloved, beautiful campsite. We were sad to leave camp but excited to see Panama! In the photos below we are saying our goodbyes to the cutest kid at camp, Alan. We will miss him so much!

Next, ¡Vamos a la playa!

The beach was absolutely gorgeous! As you can tell from the pictures, it was the perfect weather. Blue sky, slight overcast, and light breeze. Dreamy!

We also collected a few seashells to keep as momentos to remember our time here. It was the best start to our day!

After a delicious lunch at Papa John’s (we were so excited to eat pizza ❤?), we headed to the Panama Canal for a tour! It was so interesting to read about this part of Panamanian history, especially because it’s interwoven into our American history as well! Below are a few pictures we took on our tour of the  Canal.

Next, we headed to Casco Viejo, the older city section of Panama! We walked around the city to see some historic buildings and, of course, went shopping! Looking for souvenirs was a blast! We also went to a section of the plaza that had the most beautiful panoramic view of the city!

We ended the day eating at a restaraunt in Panama City that had great, authentic Panamanian food!

It was a perfect day hanging out with our Panamanian brothers and sisters, shopping, eating, laughing a lot, and even seeing some of our campers again! We are so amazed at how gracious the Lord has been to bring us here. Praise Him for all he has given to us and done through us this week! We’ve made friends we’ll never forget, ate lots food we’d never tried, and saw the Lord move like never before. We serve an awesome God.

We are thankful to have had time in Panama but are excited to get home to our friends and family in the US. Prayers for safe travels!

¡Adios Panama! We love you very much.
