Day 3: ¿Qué Sopá?
I can’t believe it’s day 3 of camp already, it’s flying by! Morning activity classes have been a blast and much better than yesterday since we moved Bible Study to the middle of the morning so that the campers could have a break from the heat! Today has been the hottest with not a cloud in the sky. We have our sunscreen and bug repellant in hand today, some of us learned the hard way yesterday 🙂
The boys have loved the pool, capture the flag, archery and even arts and crafts (paper airplanes are always a win). The girls loved the giant parachute and even got into some competitive basketball and soccer games!
This morning, campers studied from Matthew where Jesus teaches about the heart and says “from the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks” (Matthew 12:34). No matter your age, or nationality, such truth to remember that what how we spend our time, money and energy is reflected in our words and character.
Tonight, we will be having a camp wide talent show in which each cabin will be performing together. We are looking forward to seeing what they come up with!
We have continued to get to know our national staff better, I can’t begin to tell you what a blessing they are. They have been the picture of servant leadership and are eager to learn. We are excited for the potential of this program in the coming years and trust the God will continue to move in big ways through these leaders.
Please continue to pray for the hearts of our campers as our time here is short.
God is good. To Him alone be the glory!
PS: ¿Qué Sopá? Is the cool way of saying “What’s up? here” Traditionally one, would respond with a “Tota cool” 🙂
