We are currently in the midst of our first full day with campers and it’s been great! We woke up this morning and traveled about an hour an a half outside the city to our camp which is about a 5 minute walk to the beach 🙂

We arrived at camp and we surprised by the fact that our campers were already there! We jumped in immediately and started camp and went from there. (Who needs a staff meeting anyway, right?) We had cabin meetings this morning, played soccer and then had Bible Study. What a joy to see how the Panamanians are so attentive and engaged during Bible Study. We had to interrupt almost all the groups after an hour so we could go to lunch! We then went to the dining hall were we taught the campers “Flee Fly” – a classic camp cheer and welcomed them to lunch with a Spanish version of our lunch cheer – at this point they definitely think we are crazy.

Currently, campers are enjoying free time at the pool which is located at the main camp (Towers: Panama will be there starting tonight for their camp!)
We’re looking forward to club and a “Search for treasure” game after dinner as well.

We spent last evening planning for camp and praying over our campers, one of the specific verses we’ve been praying is 2 Corinthians 12:9 which says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, I am strong.” So that, when we are tempted to be frustrated by language barriers, by lack of places to sleep, by quickly changing plans – we remember it is for His glory we desire – not our own and His strength is magnified in our weakness!

Please pray for the campers that their hearts will be receptive as they will hear the gospel tonight.
