Climb Every Mountain
Hola! This is Eurica “Frarrgs” Meighan and I’ll be doing this blog thing today. Today was closing day and as usual, it was hard to see all of our niñas and niños head back home. We chainsaw’d for our last time and said goodbye. Then came THE MOUNTAIN.
We had decided that right after the kids left, we would head up to the summit of one of the beautiful mountains that surround the campgrounds. Everyone was absolutely pumped for our adventure. A couple rivers, A WHOLE LOT OF MUD, some group singing, and 2 hours later we finally made it to the top. Climbing a mountain is hard, y’all. The view was breathtaking. God is so awesome. We took some selfies and tumbled and worshipped our way back down the mountain just in time for a huge downpour. It was fantastic.
Upon our return, we all prepared for our final dinner and meeting with the National team. It was so sweet for both teams to be able to sit down together and to encourage one another. The national team prayed for each one of us- it was such a great way to end the week and more importantly, give glory to God.
I don’t know if I can speak for everyone else, but I feel like I’ve been here for a month! I feel like the camp atmosphere does that to you. Y’all, we serve a big God. He transcends all geographical and cultural differences. I DO know I can speak for everyone when I say that we are so grateful to have been given the opportunity to come here. God has been faithful to get us to the DR and we know he will be faithful to make His name known in the Dominican Republic long after we leave. Gloria a Dios.
