Hola Amigos! Buenas Noches!

Thank you for your continued prayers as we traveled the past 2 days! We are excited to finally be at our camp site!
Last night we enjoyed our long international flight and then spent a few hours in the airport before catching our third and final early morning flight to Arequipa. In the airport we met up with TJ’s sister, Tracy who lives in Peru and will be joining us for the beginning of our trip-she is a lot of fun and she blesses us with her wisdom and energy!

We had some sleepy girls in the airport last night ๐Ÿ™‚

We stepped off the plane at 6:30am to a beautiful view and our friendly partners awaiting us!

We were grateful that all our bags made to us with no troubles, yay! Our partners had snacks waiting for us on the bus and we were able to get one more nap in on our ride to camp La Joya ๐Ÿ™‚  We got settled in at camp and then we all went on a walk to brainstorm ideas for activities. There are horses for campers to ride, a great pool, play ground equipment, a volley ball court and more. Though we are grateful for this wonderful location we were reminded this morning at our training sessions that the most important part of camp is not the things or the facilities, but the relationships we build to point others to Christ!

This afternoon we completed our training sessions with our national partners, did cabin assignments, decorated and prepared for campers to arrive!

Tonight, 50 campers stepped off the bus and we greeted them Pine Cove style…jumping in a gauntlet of course! It was so fun to see the joy and excitement in our staff and campers alike.

After getting settled in our cabins we all had dinner together and then Philly gave an awesome club talk about how Job worshipped the Lord even in loss. Tracy translated this for him and it was fun to watch the campers be interactive as he shared the message!

Today has been incredible but also exhausting, truly we are weary from long travels and new adventures but we are comforted in knowing that the Lord sustains us. We would love your prayers for a restful night of sleep tonight and that we would wake up energized again tomorrow. Praise the Lord for His provision, protection and for the new friendships we are forming!
