Campamento!

Posted Jan 5, 2017

We started the day by going to the church to pick up our campers! Once we arrived at the camp, we welcomed them off the busses the only way we know how–with lots of jumping and excitement!

We have heard that some places in the States are getting snow right now…meanwhile, we are swimming outside in January!

We are greatly improving on our Spanish skills, but we have also had plenty of speech blunders…blog post to follow on that 😉

For now, here are some pics from today!

Prayer requests:

-that kids would hear and accept the Gospel!

-continued energy for all of us

-that we could communicate even amidst a language and cultural barrier

Today flew by! Getting ready for day #2 tomorrow!

Until then,

Your Spanish experts 😉

  1. Y’all! You have made it! I’m sitting here in Dallas just praying that no one is sick or injured and that you are being so pleasantly surprised by the Lord. Here’s to hoping that y’all are not just making it through, but truly being amazed by Jesus. He has a way of doing immeasurably more than we can imagine. Ephesians 3:20 ya know?

On a practical note, I am specifically praying for your digestion. No idea what food you’re getting over there, but it’s likely a little different than the homecooked American food you’ve been consuming before this.

Jesus can move even when our bowels can’t… and even when we can’t speak the same language. He’s crazy like that. So keep trying to speak Spanish, smile at people, and if all else fails, start speaking basic French words (it was a hit last time I was in a Spanish speaking country).

Sending y’all love and prayers and praying boldly that the Gospel would be shared! LIVE EVERYDAY LIKE THE FIESTA THAT IT IS!!!

  2. I’m very excited for you all and happy to hear about all of the work that God is doing through you.

    To Emily,
I’m very proud of you and all that you are doing. I’m praying for you everyday. I know God is using you for a mighty work. See you soon?

  3. Looks so funny…I’m shivering at my desk from walking into work and y’all are outside swimming. CRAZY!

  4. ^^ what Mel said ? It’s 12 degrees in Arkansas right now. So, soak up that sun, friends!!! And soak up every minute of even the awkwardness of Spanish blunders? Soooo looking forward to that blog post!

Also, s/o to Jacks for having the cutest Commission Camping pic of the year! ?

  5. Looks like you are having great weather! Praise God! Looks like so much fun and praying God will change lives and allow Jesus to be constant companion. Praying also for health and inspiration. You guys are amazing.
