Hey friends and fam!

We finished our last day of camp today! It was a blast, but we were so sad to see our last set of campers leave.

We started the day with a devo, then breakfast, then Bible study, then snack, then ended the day with a classic all camp talent show! The talent show was awesome. The cabins did cheers and dances and showed off what they had been working on together for the past three days. It’s so cool to see how unified a cabin can become through preparing for something as simple as a talent show.

Today for lunch, we had none other than fried chicken…for real. The past few days the the cooks have made us food that gave us a sweet taste of home! Food such as spaghetti, donuts, fried chicken, potatoes chips, and PIZZA! We’ve loved the Nicaraguan food, but there was something about a slice of pizza that was just what our taste buds needed. The cooks have truly been amazing and have worked so hard all week serving and loving us.

After our campers left today, we rested, ate dinner, and then debriefed the last session of camp with the Nicaraguan counselors. It was so cool to see how much the Nicaraguan team grew from the first session to the second session, and how much progress they made in learning how to run camp. This is our third year in Nicaragua, which means it’s our last. They are now prepared to run camp on their own and we have full confidence in their abilities. The Lord is using the Nicaraguan counselors and directors to love and speak truth into campers lives through the ministry of camp, and we could not be more thankful that we got to be a part of it.

We can’t believe how fast this week went. We’re so thankful for all the Lord did and for the relationships that were built. Our staff rocked it and we are seriously so proud of them. They served so well, loved their campers and the Nicaraguan staff with the love of Christ, and pursued what the Lord had for them with humble hearts.

One thing that I would say that defines our team is the word “unity.” We started the trip unified, but the Lord has unified us even more throughout our time in Nicaragua. Laboring for the gospel together, relying on the Lord for strength, and reminding each other of truth unified us more than we could have imagined.

“Therefore, encourage one another, build one another up, just as in fact you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Tomorrow we go on our tour day and we are so excited! We are going to the beach and then going on a tour (by boat) of some islands! The Nicaraguan team is coming with us and we can’t wait to spend some more quality time with them before we head back to the States! We love you all and can’t wait to see you soon!
