Ray is the Panamanian counselor who comes in and wakes all the campers in our cabin in the morning. If you’ve ever watched a soccer game on Telemundo, he sounds very much like Andres Cantor. Ray is also going to school to learn social communication. Let me just say, as a wake up call he is muy effectivo! I’m going to miss that when we’re no longer here in Panama.

The world’s next great sports announcer, Ray

So, today has been full of fun already. Breakfast, worship, ultimate pictionary, bible study, and now Kermes. I didn’t know what this was before this trip, but it’s basically informational breakout sessions. Here’s what’s happening around camp right now:

  • Baking lessons
  • Music lessons (guitar, drums, piano, and voice)
  • Three arts and crafts stations
  • CPR instruction
  • Survival skills with Pastor Cesar
  • How to go camping safely

YMCA. Y not?

When you play ultimate pictionary, you fist bump

…and then you celebrate

Ultimate!

Continue to pray for camp! There was a very emotional service last night and it seems that the Lord is softening the hearts of the kids. Pray that they would be sensitive to the Spirit’s leading. Camp is fun!

I’m sure I’ll post again a little later. Keep the comments coming!!!

  1. Hi sweet friends!! I wish I could jump through the pictures, hug Elley, and watch you all interact with your friends in Panama. You are planting seeds that God will water for years to come! Be safe!! Have fun and make lots of memories! I can’t wait for more posts! God bless you all and tell Elley Polly is great!! love, Momma Shelley

  2. Can’t believe y’all are half way through your trip. I’m sure you are building relationships and earning the trust of those precious kiddos by now. Praying for their hearts to be open to the truth of God’s word, and that they would all desire to have what y’all have – Jesus living through each one of you. Thank you each one for having a servant’s heart and for your willingness to spend precious time off telling those Panamanian teens about Jesus!!!
